Hiab cranes are a type of elevator mounted on trucks. They are elevators that operate as fixed on 6, 10 or 12-wheel trucks. They are available in a broad range from 3 tons to 120 tons. Hiab cranes are preferred at various stages in different projects due to their small size compared to other machines in the elevator group.

They are classified in two sub-types as single or double joints. The main difference between these two types is how far they can reach to take loads. Boom systems with double joints are usually implemented on 25-ton or heavier cranes. Double-joint cranes are usually operated in construction works and are very common.
